Livestock Facility

The newest addition to the fairgrounds would be the Livestock Facility measuring 90'x250'. This indoor facility is ideal for any type of livestock event. Portable stalls or stock pens can be easily put up in the facility providing additional stabling for horse or cattle events. Shows and Sales of many types are held in this facility. A sand/soil base mixture makes footing easily adapted for many types of events.     The Livestock Facility is host to all of the livestock events during our county fair; including cattle, sheep, goats and hogs. It is also the facility that hosts the Shelby Showcase Heifer Sale. In addition to the cattle events, it is also home to the Kentucky Cutting Horse Association Show which conducts a two day event once each month. Photo by Jane Carman

In addition to the Weller Barn, there are 2 shed row type barns on the grounds which have approximately 40 horse stalls each.

Show Ring

Show Ring

The Shelby County Fairgrounds has a picturesque Show Ring, with grandstand type bleachers on one side and a covered grandstand on the other. There is a gazebo in the center ring providing the ideal place for an announcer, band or official to use during a show. A concrete apron all the way around the outside of the ring provides a wonderful area for box seating to be sold as preferred seating during your event.

The pavilion also sits at the end of the Show Ring and this provides both a wonderful view for the people in the pavilion and also many ways for a show promoter to use the additional space for fund raising. Above the entrance to the Show Ring is a Secretary's office and an additional place for an announcer to be able to work and be protected from the weather.
